Job Description: mechanical engineer, sr. Job duties: applies engineering fundamentals to solve design or fabrication problems dealing with mechanical and optical equipment. May prepare preliminary sketches and designs and use this information to formulate and develop final designs. Uses computer assisted design (cad) systems to either personally prepare design layouts, detail and assembly drawings, electrical schematics and related documentation in conformance to appropriate program and/or military specification, or to interact with mechanical design drafters who transcribe engineering instruction into cad system. Applies engineering judgment to evaluate fab and assembly productibility and assign appropriate part tolerances to achieve required performance levels. Inspects drawings/layouts of other engineering personnel. Contacts are frequent within and outside organization on significant matters requiring tack, persuasion and negotiation skills.

Job Requirements: MUST BE A US CITIZEN OR HAVE PERMANENT RESIDENT ALIEN STATUS. Experience: ELECTRO-OPTICS SYSTEM INTEGRATION BACKGROUND, OPTOMECHANICAL PACKAGING EXPERIENCE PREFERRED. Knowledge Desired: PRO/ENGINEER.

Education Desired: BS OR MS MECHINCAL ENGINEERING.

Work Hours: From: 7:30 AM To: 4:00 PM
