Required Skill sets:
- Knowledge of Project Management in a Power Generation/Construction Environment ONLY
- Hydro generation experience
- Strong knowledge of budget forecasting, analysis, preparation
- Good analytical communication skills (i.e., Ability to gather and verify information from OUR CLIENT'S ad contract individuals and other resources for use in project planning and analysis related to Power Generation design and construction projects)
- Customer Focus, Quality and Efficiency
- B.S. degree in engineering, a related field or equivalent experience
- Good EXCEL, Microsoft Project and writing skills
- SAP is a plus

These positions are in Power Generation's Project Management Group. The Project Management Group provides project management and analyst support for Power Generation's major design/construct and outage projects. All projects are related to the Company's hydroelectric power system, the largest privately-owned hydroelectric system in the nation, and some are related to the Company's fossil-fueled power plants. Specific types of projects supported by these positions depend on need and the analyst's technical background and experience. The positions work with several project managers, business planners and other analysts, and offers a range of opportunities for interesting work and career growth. Responsibilities range from support tasks using entry-level skills to broader assignments and challenges at the journeyman level.
Job Description
The following responsibilities will relate to electric refurbishments, generators, breakers, values, turbines, controls, and hydro infrastructure installations, including rods, penstocks, dams, bridges, canals and flumes. Responsibilities:
- PROJECT PLANNING - Develop work breakdown structures; Critical Path Method (CPM) schedules; and resource, cost and budget plans. Prepare cost estimates and Job Estimates (OUR CLIENT'S project justification packages). Set up accounting in SAP. Gather, compile and input budget data in SAP and Power Generation's long term planning system.
- PROJECT MONITORING AND ANALYSIS - Efficiently and accurately perform monitoring and analysis functions for the various projects. Work in collaboration with Project Managers and project teams to maintain project schedules and monitor cost status and forecasts. Analyze schedule start and duration variances: % complete vs. % of time spent. Recommend corrective actions. Perform SAP queries to extract financial performance data. Analyze and trend variances by comparing the current cost plan against the actual to date, forecast to complete costs, approved or authorized costs, and budget costs. Analyze actual charges to validate their correctness and appropriateness. Provide Project Manager and project team members with status information and milestones that will ensure timely decisions that will take advantage of changing circumstances and resource availability.
- PROJECT REPORTING - Prepare project status reports monthly and more frequently during the construction phase. Prepare weekly activities report.
- ASSIST PROJECT MANAGERS - Provide technical assistance to Project Managers. Record and distribute notes from project meetings.
- SUPPORT BUSINESS SYSTEMS - Assist in maintaining and updating Project Management Guidelines. Maintain and update project status database and programmatic spreadsheets. Assist in updating Project Management website.
